INI grew out of the suspicion that things are rarely as self-evident as they begin to seem once we have lived with them long enough. It looks more closely at stories told again and again, explanations that slowly harden into habit, and the curious arrangements to which people eventually adapt as though they had always been natural.
The subjects are mostly familiar: power and money, work and technology, history, human relationships, memory, and the small absurdities of everyday life. But INI is less interested in telling readers what they ought to think about them than in asking how we all reached the point where certain things no longer occur to us as worth thinking about.
It is not a news site, and it is not an answer factory. It is a literary space for essays, satire, stories, personal observations, and shorter reflections. Writing that may not offer a reassuring conclusion—but might, for a moment, shift the emphasis.

The writing is held together by one persistent suspicion: reality rarely becomes more convincing simply because the same explanation has been repeated often enough. At most, it begins to feel familiar—which is not quite the same thing.
There is politics and money here, work and technology, history, human relationships, memory, and everything people first grow accustomed to and later call natural. INI leans closer to these stories, to the apparently self-evident, and to the small absurdities of everyday life. Not to prescribe what anyone should think, but to make room, now and then, for the question to be asked again: why is it like this?
INI’s language editions are independent editorial spaces. Different language, different rhythm, different readers—held together by the same habit: every so often, it is worth looking again at what everyone has long since dismissed with the words, ‘that’s just the way the world is.’
