Notes
Finally, an International Day That Actually Makes Sense October 1 is International Coffee Day. Finally, an international day whose importance requires no lengthy explanation. We could use a few more like it. International Late Breakfast Day. World “I’m Not Picking Up Today” Day. Perhaps one day the United Nations might even officially recognise the right to a second afternoon coffee. Admittedly, when it comes to coffee, I can hardly claim to be an impartial observer. Addiction may be too strong a word, but if there is no coffee in the morning, diplomatic relations tend to deteriorate surprisingly quickly. Perhaps it is no coincidence that coffee eventually turned into stories, and the stories into a book. In the pages of "Morning Coffee Chronicles", Henry, Margaret and, of course, Brutus regularly demonstrate that a cup of coffee does not make the affairs of the world any less complicated. Only slightly more bearable. Which is probably as much as one should reasonably expect
